Misconceptions Over Wars Spread Nothing but Empty Propaganda

Misconceptions over wars

After reading Adiel Asmal’s letter, “Never Again has become a hollow refrain,” I have to respond with the following: our misconceptions over wars taking place in which there was a clear original aggressor (Hamas on October 7th, Russia in Ukraine) can lead us down a path of extreme naivety and end up even misleading ourselves.

I think that many of our writers fall into the trap of sympathizing with ‘Palestinians’ due to what is put out there by Hamas officials and pro-Islamic reporters such as Al Jazeera. The problem is, Gazan Arabs chose Hamas to rule over Gaza all whilst knowing that they would probably be used as shields and even, in some cases, as actors of victimhood in order to garner international support for the new Frankenstein concoction of Islamo-Marxism-Wokeism. When an enemy hides amongst civilian areas and in tunnels underground, it becomes virtually impossible for any army in the world to successfully eradicate them. I’d say the IDF has been doing a pretty amazing job!

Unlike Adiel Asmal, who bemoans organisations such as the United Nations, the Geneva Convention and the International Criminal Court, these bodies have allegedly been used in a very effective manner to wage a PR war against Israel, which would ultimately lead to the majority of nations hating the Jews. So far, it has unfortunately been successful, when in fact, the only ones who should be held accountable are the Hamas hooligans and Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei! Locally, ANC members have also jumped on the bandwagon, criticizing Israel despite very disturbing footage shared by Hamas itself, of genocide and apartheid crimes. So far, none of these claims has been proven to be true, nor has Benjamin Netanyahu been arrested. In fact, the exact opposite has been happening – Netanyahu has become even bolder, more direct and almost brutal in his approach to weed out terror!

Asmal says that the ‘weak’ is not protected and the ‘strong’ is not restrained – who exactly needs protection when you consider just how tiny Israel is? Have the Jews not suffered enough already? How much more should they endure? And why does the world not want to allow the Gazans to leave Gaza? Why is it an absolute must that they be awarded statehood? Why does no one else want to take Gazans in, not Egypt, nor Qatar, nor Jordan…nobody? Why is support for Hamas banned in many Middle Eastern countries? Are they not supposed to be ‘resistance fighters’? Why are Hamas leaders allowed to hide in lavish Qatari hotels? Asmal also claims that ‘rules are supplied selectively, justice for some and impunity for others’ – I’m sorry, but the entire world seems to be backing radical Islam whilst antisemitism is totally ignored. How can this be fair? Enough said! I know who I support – unequivocally!
