Government’s Silence on Iran Speaks Volumes

Is our government possibly complicit in crimes against humanity for its failure to speak out against the Ayatollahs of Iran right now? Secondly, is the ANC’s and Pandor’s association with Iran questioned enough by South Africans? I don’t think so.

For those who are hiding under a rock or might have been living off the grid, Iranians are currently being slaughtered by the hundreds daily for protesting against the terror regime of Ayatollah Khamenei. Reports have come in of automatic weapons being used against bare-handed women and children on the streets, and even in hospitals and at citizens’ workplaces. The use of tear gas and guns has been reported. These are unthinkable acts of barbarism, and it almost equates to the Nazis who killed so many Jews during the dreaded Holocaust of 1941.

Our government was very vocal when Israel went into Rafah in search of terror masterminds such as Yahya Sinwar and other Hamas fighters, accusing Israel of genocide and illegal occupation, but what about the people of Iran? Do their women and children, who are predominantly Muslim, not deserve freedom as well, like the Gazans and the Jews, for that matter? Why is Gaza different from Iran? Could it be because the IRGC is finally being toppled by brave, defenceless citizens and that one of the ANC’s biggest allies, the Iranian regime, is falling? Whatever Trump and his army decide to do over the next few days, nobody can deny that he is the only president who is willing to stick his neck out in support of oppressed people groups such as Christians in Nigeria, Venezuelans who were brutally oppressed by Maduro, and now the Iranians who have suffered under Khamenei since 1979!

Should we, as South Africans, demand more accountability from the ANC, in particular, for its friendship with the Ayatollahs? Can we be happy when we see what is happening in Iran, whilst our government remains silent, just like Barack Obama did when he had the chance to effect change in Iran? I am proud of the Iranian people for finally saying” enough is enough”! As for our corrupt leaders in SA, where are you now????
