Can One Man Be More Important Than a Whole Nation?
Cyril Ramaphosa has done it once again! He has avoided accountability for the Phala Phala scandal, at least for now! The defense argued that should the impeachment process go ahead, Ramaphosa would suffer severe public scrutiny and reputational damage, but is that not the point if you have had so many fingers in so many cookie jars already?
I mean, are we supposed to reward criminality now? We are all as shocked as we are irritated about this verdict! When will the law ever be applied equally again, for all citizens in SA? Ramaphosa has proven time and again that he is a slippery, slimy customer who likes to talk the talk, but there is not a lot of walking going on, for his promises of a better future for all had not only misfired, but the reality for so many of us citizens is that things got systematically worse for us and the economy under this man with his Colgate smile, characteristic giggle and falsely confident demeanor.
The majority of South Africans, including all races, have nothing good to say about Ramaphosa anymore, and it feels like we will never see the back of him! The DA, unfortunately, seems to think that the longer Ramaphosa can survive, the better for SA, since the next president might be far worse and even more radical. I say: let the law take its course and stop pandering to politically connected individuals as if they are gods and us taxpayers are pawns! We are the backbone of society! Our private sector holds our country together like a spine holds up the human body!
We must condemn the failure of our courts to hold even the highest citizens of our country accountable! We don’t care who it is! Malema, Magashule, the Guptas, Ramaphosa or Mashatile- everyone should be equal under one law! It’s time for these politicians to put on their big boy pants and take ownership of their sins and show their manhood! We cannot have a situation where Blacks are treated differently to Whites regarding race laws, nor can we have a constitution which allows for certain individuals to escape the law, whilst others must pay the highest price! These are crimes against humanity, and should never be allowed to take place under any circumstances, and in any country!
