The whining of Blessing Manale of the Climate Change Commission about ‘misinformation’ is ironic in the extreme. He wants free speech defended but only if it adheres to the narrative of the World Economic Forum that climate change is caused by fossil fuels. A confused man indeed, particularly as climate change is a natural phenomenon proven by science and history.

Immediately below Manale’s misinformation about fossil fuels is an upbeat article about the anticipated economic boom which oil and gas exploitation heralds for Namibia and its economy. Absolute common sense!

Below that positive report, Dr Adrian Blanck explains how and why Spain and Portugal had a power blackout. It’s the engineering, stupid! is what he unpacks. Renewables, which the Iberian Peninsula has embraced 100%, are unreliable and not sustainable as energy sources because, in the first place, they are intermittent in what they produce, which makes them incompatible with how grids work, besides being ultra expensive.

The best part of Dr Blanck’s broadside on the green fantasy is: “ Engineers, system architects and real specialists must reclaim their voice in energy policy debates…. Europe has no future following absurd decisions by ignorant policy makers.”

That said, one hopes that no further printing ink and space is wasted on the false rhetoric of the likes of Blessing Manale and the devious renewables agenda of the WEF.

If it were not for the economy-killing indebtedness amounting to hundreds of billions to transition to the fallacy of decarbonised energy to which leaders are condemning their countries, the COP 29 summit could be written off as a Mad Hatter’s Tea party.

In any event, certain peculiarities Lewis Carroll brings to the fore in the story aptly reflect the prevailing nature of the participants in COP 29. Personality disorder, confusion and chaos were symptoms hatters experienced from inhaling mercury vapours – hence the expression “mad as a hatter.”

Thanks to the mass media, an Orwellian oligarchy has succeeded in creating an utterly false climate pandemic which criminalises the emission of carbon dioxide on the basis that it is killing the planet. Emotionalism masquerading as science and reason blames fossil fuel usage as the cause of wild weather – excessive heat, floods, droughts and hurricanes.

Hard scientific and historical evidence to the contrary is totally ignored by the mad hatters. How can a gas which constitutes only 0,043% of the atmosphere possibly be responsible for weather extremes?

Graphs compiled from CO2 concentrations over the past 10,000 years from ice cores in Greenland show no correlation with temperature changes. Research  shows that temperatures were often higher in the pre-industrial era, thereby discounting fossil fuels as a factor. Botanically, it is a proven fact that CO2 is the “gas of life” and that vegetation greening and crop production benefits from increased CO2 levels.

Despite the irrefutable evidence provided by science and history, the mad hatters are hell bent on phasing out fossil fuels and nuclear energy and replacing them with staggeringly expensive and unreliable wind turbines. To date the wilful mental disorder of the hatters has crippled Germany’s economy.

Studied ignorance and stupidity is leading South Africa down the path of permanent debt by committing it to trillions in the quest of a “just transition.” In the US offshore wind farms have caused a 40% cost increase in producing a single megawatt.

Fortunately, President Trump’s commitment to“drill, baby, drill!” will upend the decarbonisation madness of the COP29 adherents and compel objective truth about climate change to prevail.

DA environment spokesman Andrew De Blocq (September 26)  is sycophantic in praising his ministerial boss for his dedication at the UN in committing South Africa to the goals of decarbonisation.  Sadly, his obsequious discourse is indicative of the extent to which the DA has swallowed hook, line and sinker the canard that human intervention is the solution to blunting the effects of climate change.

Besides the studied ignorance of that standpoint, what is particularly alarming is that despite its research resources, the DA has failed to question the agenda of those promoting the falsehood of decarbonisation and the catastrophic socio-economic consequences it portends.

Those consequences are equally ignored by Cosatu. In an opinion piece in Business Report on September 23 Boitumelo Molete amazingly endorses the transition to “a just low-carbon economy” as heralding employment opportunities. For a trade union which so stridently opposes job losses, it is remarkable that Cosatu fails to appreciate the employment opportunities which fossil fuels provide in everyday life in all forms of manufacturing, mining, industry, transport and heating. So-called green energy can never compete with that or substitute those roles.

What the DA and Cosatu should be investigating is the insidiousness of the green transition they are embracing. It has two dire long-term consequences: insurmountable debt and the loss of sovereignty. By accepting billions in loans that will amount to trillions in order to implement decarbonisation, South Africa’s independence and sovereignty is being frittered away. Servitude is the key aim of the globalists in pursuing their Orwellian new world order.

The details of the necessary changes are spelt out by the key opposition parties. But what they also need to spell out is their stance on two global narratives which promise to nullify the virtuous change voters seek and to subvert freedom.

Voters need to demand that the political party of their choice rejects the World Health Organisation’s global accord on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response. By accepting the WHO agenda, a country’s individual sovereignty to determine its own health policies will be rescinded. But that is just the beginning. Once beholden to the dictates of the WHO, mandatory vaccines and digital passports will follow without which international travel and mobility will be denied.

As millions have since realised, the so-called Covid pandemic with its lockdown, masks, social distancing, closure of schools, churches, beaches, public amenities, and mandatory, improperly tested vaccines was all unscientific and unconstitutional. But it was a trial run of how the broad public can be made to comply with fascist dictatorship.

The deadly effect of the WHO-promoted bio-weapon, falsely called a vaccine, is daily apparent wherever vaxxing was widespread. Mortality rates are up from between 8 and 16 percent. Sudden “unexplained” deaths of healthy, young people have become common. Illnesses caused by the vaccines are knocking years off life spans.

Compliance with the WHO’s agenda has everything to do with depopulation and delimitation of national sovereignty and liberty. Health is the Trojan horse of the WHO and its WEF partner.

Rejection of the narrative that climate change is man-made and that only by eliminating fossil fuels can global warming be curtailed is the other issue on which political parties need to make unambiguous declarations. Climate change is a natural historically proven reality.

It is socio-economic suicide to destroy our economy by adhering to the decarbonisation narrative which will plunge the country into a R1 trillion debt for so-called renewables which can never substitute the role of fossil fuels. That madness is further exacerbated by the availability of massive oil and gas fields off the Cape/Namibia coast.

Political parties that decline to recognise the Orwellian intentions of the WHO and WEF with regards to health and decarbonisation are unworthy of votes – regardless of how promising their policies are in terms of salvaging South Africa.

On that basis, I strenuously object to the article headed: “COP 28 A Crucial Year for Africa’s Climate Action… Global Warming… Climate Emergency 2023” by Keketso Motjuwadi.

That article flagrantly violates the principles noted above.

There is NO climate emergency. There is no global warming. That narrative is the concoction of the UN and WEF globalists. They deliberately ignore science and history. Robust weather changes have occurred in every century. Scientific records for the past 70 years show that temperatures have been consistent. In Natal, for example, the most extreme weather ever recorded occurred between May 31 and June 2 of 1905 – long before the major use of fossil fuels.

There have been two warming periods in the past 2000 years. The first was between 200 BC and 300 AD; the second was from 900 AD to 1300 AD. They occurred when fossil fuels were in the ground. Warming and cooling periods are a natural occurrences. The cooling period that followed 1300 saw the Thames ice up in the winter. The warming period preceded it saw fruit grown as far north as Hadrian’s Wall in Britain.

By the UN’s own calculations, if the planet was completely decarbonised, the temperature would decrease by 0,4 of a degree Celsius.

What the alarmists do not state is that carbon dioxide comprises 0,4% of the earth’s atmosphere. Yet it is crucial to plant vegetation growth. In 2018, an experiment at Rhodes University proved that by increasing the carbon dioxide content, plant life flourished even in barren circumstances.

What needs to be probed by Independent Newspapers is: why is this falsehood about global warming and carbon being perpetrated? What is the agenda of those promoting it? Who is financing this propaganda of bought science?

Tens of thousands of scientists have pointed out the falsehood that global warming is man-made. Why does the Independent not publicise their narrative? That would be in the public interest – another of the principles in your Code of Conduct.  Yet one never reads the views of those opposing the globalist falsehood about climate change except in occasional Letters to the Editor. Is that an error of omission or commission?  Wittingly or unwittingly, its omission constitutes censorship which the Independent staunchly opposes.

I am a long-standing subscriber who pays his annual subscription upfront. I expect accountable journalism. I also expect compliance with the principle of audi alteram partem.

Besides regurgitating the absolute falsehood that carbon emissions are causing climate change and global warming, exhorting the tourism industry to involve itself in climate issues without addressing the issue of travel and transport is a bit like trying to bake a cake without heat.

Given the mania to decarbonise the planet, how does Blessing Manale expect tourists to reach distant continents when air travel requires fossil fuel? Given their grand plan to decarbonise the planet, what provision have they made to substitute all the carbon-based machinery, appliances and accoutrements the tourism industry requires to function?

How do they intend to mine the various elements needed to manufacture the “renewables” upon which they base future energy supplies? Without powerful fossil fuel-driven engines none of that is possible.

The sheer fiction of the narrative that human beings cause climate change deserves as much contempt as the fiction purveyed by the Flat Earth Society.  Compounding that is the sheer waste of money and resources on a presidential commission.

It’s time the news media distinguished between fact and fiction and dispensed with publishing pages of newsprint on a narrative that is devoid of scientific and historical truth.
