Secure Your Parking Spot at FNB Stadium for EFF’s 10th Anniversary Celebration
JMPD has announced that the gates for the EFF 10th anniversary celebration will open at 8 am, and the event will commence at 10 am, concluding at midnight.
More than 4000 people are expected to attend the EFF 10th anniversary celebration today, Saturday, 29 July, and parking is expected to be a nightmare around FNB Stadium.
However, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has outlined the parking options at the stadium in order to reduce traffic congestion and parking stress.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla said general bus parking will be available at the Johannesburg Expo Parking 1- 8, Shareworld Parking, the Parking area on the northern side of Soweto Highway (Kidneys), and the Eastern Overflow Parking on Nasrec Road. Buses will be transporting participants from various locations across the country to the FNB Stadium.
“Buses and minibus taxis will also shuttle participants from the Johannesburg CBD and Soweto to the Transportation Hub using Rand Show Road, Soweto Highway, Golden Highway, Ring Road 2, and Landbou Road towards the Transportation Hub,” the official added.
EFF VIP AND PREMIUM PARKING BAYS
He added that Private vehicles (VVIP, VIP, Premium, Hospitality, Stadium General) will park at the stadium (basement) and the Open Parking Space adjacent to the stadium.
APPEAL TO MOTORISTS
Fihla issued a warning, advising drivers to familiarize themselves with the day’s traffic management so they can plan their routes appropriately. “Alternative routes to avoid the FNB Stadium Precinct are the N1 Freeway, the M1 Freeway, the N12 Freeway, Main Reef Road, Aerodrome Road, and Adcock Ingram Avenue,” Fihla said.
The event will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the gates opening at 8:00, and end at 0:00 a.m. the following morning.
