The event, themed Accelerating Gender Equality: Action Now for a Fairer Tomorrow, will take place on Tuesday, 1 April 2025, from 08:00–11:30 at The Venue, 39 Melrose Boulevard, Melrose Arch.

This year’s conference, aligned with WPN’s mission to empower women in the commercial real estate industry, promises to inform, inspire and uplift. As a key partner, Melrose Arch will provide a platform for influential voices, thought-provoking discussions, and meaningful networking that are synonymous with this popular industry occasion. The event is expected to draw prominent property leaders and industry changemakers who are passionate about accelerating gender equality from across the country.

Natalie Stewart Ndlovu, managing director of Melrose Arch, highlights the significance of the partnership: “At Melrose Arch, we believe that diversity is not just about equal representation; it’s about bringing forward the best ideas, perspectives, and leadership for a more sustainable and innovative future. Supporting the Women’s Property Network’s Leadership Conference represents part of our ongoing commitment to empowering women, and we’re excited to contribute to a future where gender equality is not just a goal, but a reality.”

This year’s theme calls for immediate action to create a fairer tomorrow. As the commercial property sector grapples with challenges and shifts in the global landscape, it is crucial to reflect on the strides made and the work still ahead in achieving gender equity. With discussions led by esteemed speakers and experts, the conference will tackle the current state of gender transformation in the South African property market, evaluating where change has occurred and the barriers that still need to be overcome.

The conference agenda includes insightful addresses from industry leaders, an interactive panel discussion, and a keynote by Dr. Shirley Zinn, Chairperson of the V&A Waterfront and the Chair of provincial agency, WESGRO, who will provide a fresh perspective on how the sector can benefit from further integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into its strategies.

Pranita Daya, research analyst and assistant property portfolio manager at Truffle Asset Management, will bring valuable research on gender equality, while Nonhlanhla Mayisela, co-owner and executive director of Ukukhula Real Estate Partners, will advocate for the advancement of women in leadership. Natalie Stewart Ndlovu will discuss the tangible steps Melrose Arch has taken to foster an inclusive environment, alongside insights from Jose Snyders, chief executive officer of Liberty Two Degrees, who will challenge the current narrative and offer actionable solutions for greater gender representation in the industry.

Beyond the thought-provoking discussions, the event will feature networking opportunities, with breakfast, spot prizes, and lucky draws to keep the energy high and engagement vibrant.
