Almost 3 years into the war in Gaza between Israel and the terror group Hamas, one thing we all would’ve noticed, or at least some of us, is the power of the ‘Free Palestine’ propaganda machinery!

In response to Adiel Asmal’s latest letter, ‘Gaza’s suffering, a warning to the world’, and T Markandan’s letter titled ‘Global outrage over the killing of journalists in Gaza’, I would like to say this: your misleading pro-Hamas rhetoric has become very predictable, very stale and only profitable to those who fail to accept the truth of the Middle Eastern chaos caused by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps.

Multiple videos have surfaced showing Hamas fighters firing at their own people for wanting to grab some of the aid dropped by the IDF. One might ask why this is happening…well, consider recent footage of a skeleton-like Israeli hostage held in captivity by Hamas in a terror tunnel and being asked to dig his own grave. Yes, that shocking video that has now been displayed for the whole world to see…that one! If this is what Hamas is capable of doing, how on Earth are we supposed to believe any information coming out of Gaza? Likewise, with evidence of UN officials allegedly having taken part in the October 7th massacre, how could anyone possibly believe any statistics coming from the very organization that is supposed to be impartial, yet protects, bolsters and defends Hamas propaganda? It’s time to stop lying to the public.

In Adeel Asmal’s letter, he bemoans the IDF’s so-called strategy of starvation, yet he fails to mention that Hamas has been notorious for stealing aid off trucks and reselling the goods at inflated prices to its very own people! Considering the opportunities that lie herein, is it any wonder that Hamas is firing shots at Gazans for wanting to help themselves to what is rightfully theirs? But you see, my fellow readers, either Mr Asmal doesn’t know what is going on, or he simply is denying the hard truth. Hamas has perfected the art of scapegoating – the art of using its very own people as bait to gain sympathy from the international audience. Like a movie, it’s all playing out in front of our eyes, and many people have bought into this narrative, out of sheer ignorance, lack of truth or over-sympathizing with a terror group parading as a ‘resistance movement’. Why is it that Arab nations such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain and Egypt have banned public support for Hamas? And why is it that Western nations such as Australia, Canada and the UK now embrace Hamas? The West has been infiltrated.

To respond to Mr Markandan’s letter, his outrageous claims of Israel killing babies whilst still suckling their mother’s breasts cannot be further from the truth! It is quite shocking! If Netanyahu wanted to commit a genocide, why has it taken him almost 3 years now to clear out Gaza? He could’ve done it in one foul swoop! With its current military power, Israel doesn’t need to drop flyers from above to warn Gazans to flee from danger. Nor do they have to drop tonnes of aid, which lies rotting in the sun due to the UN’s incompetence! Please stop the propaganda, Mr Markandan. It is becoming very boring and predictable now.

To those who want the truth, I urge you to do more research! Don’t believe what I say! Go see for yourself! But don’t just buy into the ‘Free Free Palestine’ narrative because you lack knowledge. It is very dangerous and misleading.

The Iranian ring of fire, consisting of the Houthis in Yemen, Hamas in Gaza and of course, Hezbollah from Beirut, Lebanon, has pretty much been crippled by very surgical Israeli air strikes and and a little bit of help from the Mossad, Israel’s brilliant counterterrorism group.

In a recent operation, the SANAA airport in Yemen has been bombed by the IDF Air Force in another show of strength from the mighty Jewish nation. A ballistic missile fired by the Houthis recently made it through Israeli airspace and almost hit its Ben Gurion airport. What strikes me as extremely arrogant from these tyrannical Middle Eastern nations such as Lebanon and Iran is how they just keep on attacking Israel, hoping that somehow they will defeat the tiny country, but every single time, they get taught a major lesson militarily by the IDF, yet they just keep on going at it. The radical Islamic ideology has gotten to a stage where even if these economies are completely wiped out and hurting, they simply will not stop attacking and harassing Israel.

Israel is known as one of the most economically successful, resilient and freedom-loving nations on Earth. Millions of tourists, pilgrims and believers of Judeo-Christian values flock to the country to experience the place where Jesus walked, to get spiritual clarity, and mainly for religious reasons. It is a Holy Land for Jews, Christians and Muslims alike. The Dead Sea is also a major tourist attraction. With Iran and all of its proxies constantly attacking or attempting to attack this Holy Land, the US, under President Trump, has had no other option but to start strategically positioning its ships and aircraft near Iran, ready to strike at any moment. The concentration of the US military around the area signals an imminent attack on Iranian soil. Should the US, together with mighty Israel, begin an offensive strike on Iran’s oil tankers and nuclear facilities, it could very well lead to the total collapse of the Iranian economy and removal of the Iranian terror regime, headed by Ayatolla Khamenei.

Had it not been for the Chinese government buying oil via Iran’s shadow fleet of tankers to avoid detection, one often wonders how pathetic their government would’ve been. The entire free world is hoping for a total victory on Iranian soil when the US and Israel finally take out the Ayatolla’s nuclear plant and free the people of Iran from its nefarious, evil regime. If ever there was a great time for the US to strike hard, it is now! May God have mercy on the people of Iran, as they deserve so much better! Their own regime has been oppressing them since 1979, and the amount of conversions of Muslims to Christianity has been profound. Maybe 2025 will be the year where the entire balance of power in the Middle East will shift back to the people, and away from oppressive, merciless regimes who only seek to destroy Israel, terrorize peace-loving nations and suppress freedoms. We are in for a very exciting few weeks indeed!

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated once more as Israel launched a new wave of airstrikes on Gaza, marking the official collapse of the ceasefire. The strikes come in response to a deadlock in hostage negotiations with Hamas, reigniting fears of prolonged violence and humanitarian fallout.

The Breakdown of the Ceasefire
The ceasefire agreement, which had been in place since January, fell apart after failed attempts to negotiate the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that military operations had resumed due to Hamas’s refusal to comply with demands. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) stated that the airstrikes targeted Hamas infrastructure across Gaza, including locations in Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, Khan Younis, and Rafah.

Palestinian health authorities report at least 235 casualties from the strikes, with many more injured. The renewed conflict has left civilians caught in the crossfire, as aid groups warn of worsening humanitarian conditions.

International Reactions
The White House has expressed support for Israel’s actions, blaming Hamas for the breakdown of the ceasefire. Meanwhile, Hamas has condemned the airstrikes, accusing Israel of violating agreements and endangering the lives of hostages still held in Gaza. The international community, including the United Nations and key European nations, has urged restraint and a return to negotiations to prevent further bloodshed.

What Comes Next?
With hostilities resuming, the prospect of a prolonged conflict looms over the region. Analysts warn that further escalations could trigger wider instability, drawing in neighbouring countries. Efforts to broker a new ceasefire continue, but with both sides firmly entrenched in their positions, a peaceful resolution remains uncertain.

As the cycle of violence resumes, the people of Gaza and Israel face yet another period of uncertainty and devastation. Whether diplomatic efforts can regain momentum or if the region is on the brink of a deeper war remains to be seen.

Allegations of media suppression have surfaced as Meta’s social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram, face accusations of limiting Palestinian media reach while bolstering Israeli content during the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict. Data from BBC and other sources reveal a striking contrast in audience engagement, raising questions about digital censorship and freedom of speech.

Palestinian Media Faces a Sharp Decline Since the onset of the Hamas-Israel conflict in October 2023, Palestinian news platforms have faced a dramatic decline in engagement on Facebook. Data from BBC’s analysis of 20 Palestinian media institutions, including Palestine TV, Wafa news agency, and Al-Watan News, revealed a 77% drop in audience interaction compared to the previous year. Notably, Palestine TV, which boasts 5.8 million followers, saw a 60% reduction in post reach.

Shadow-Banning Allegations and Algorithmic Changes Journalists from Palestine TV and other media houses have raised concerns about “shadow-banning”—a practice where user content is hidden without formal notice. Internal documents leaked by former and current Meta employees support these claims. The leaks reveal that Instagram, also owned by Meta, introduced tougher moderation of Palestinian comments following the Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023. One insider confirmed that algorithmic changes made content moderation “more aggressive” towards Palestinian users.

Engagement Surge for Israeli Media and Arabic Outlets In stark contrast, Israeli media experienced a surge in engagement. Analysis of 20 Israeli media pages, including Yediot Ahronot, Israel Hayom, and Channel 13, showed a 37% increase in interactions. Meanwhile, Arabic-language media outlets like Al Jazeera and Sky News Arabia witnessed a 100% rise in engagement.

Meta’s Response to Suppression Allegations Meta’s official stance is that the claims of deliberate suppression of Palestinian voices are “unequivocally false.” The company stated that its actions, which included temporary changes to moderation policies, were part of a broader strategy to counter “hateful content” linked to the ongoing conflict. Meta maintains that its policies seek to balance free speech with regulatory obligations, given that Hamas is a U.S.-designated terrorist organization and classified as a “dangerous organization” under Meta’s guidelines.

The Role of Limited Press Access in Gaza Compounding the issue is the limited access to Gaza for foreign journalists, who can only enter the region under the escort of the Israeli military. This restriction has heightened reliance on Palestinian social media pages as primary sources of information. As engagement with these outlets decreases, questions arise about the role social media platforms play in shaping public perception and controlling narratives.

The stark contrast in engagement statistics for Palestinian and Israeli media during the ongoing conflict has raised concerns about censorship and freedom of speech on Meta’s platforms. While Meta insists that its moderation policies are neutral and driven by security needs, leaked documents and user testimonies suggest otherwise. The broader implications of these developments highlight the growing power of social media giants to influence the information landscape in times of conflict.

In a surge of violence, Israeli forces launched intensified air and ground assaults on Gaza, with devastating consequences for civilian infrastructure and human life. Among the tragic incidents, a UN-run school sheltering displaced families was struck, resulting in significant casualties. This development marks another grim chapter in an already catastrophic conflict.

UN-Run School Targeted Without Warning A UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) school in Gaza was bombed without prior warning, according to reports from Al Jazeera. The attack claimed the lives of at least 20 people, many of whom were women and children seeking refuge from the ongoing violence. The school was one of many shelters designated for displaced civilians amid the relentless Israeli military campaign.

UN officials have strongly condemned the strike, labelling it a breach of international humanitarian law. Philippe Lazzarini, head of UNRWA, described the attack as “shocking and completely unjustifiable.” The incident has sparked renewed calls for accountability and an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians trapped in the conflict.

Death Toll Rises as Air and Ground Assaults Escalate In addition to the school bombing, Israeli air and ground offensives across Gaza led to the deaths of at least 54 people in a 24-hour period. Sky News reports that the strikes targeted several densely populated areas, including residential buildings and shelters. The heavy bombardment has intensified, with local health officials warning of a mounting humanitarian crisis as hospitals become overwhelmed with casualties.

The Israeli military has defended its actions, claiming they are targeting Hamas militants and military infrastructure. However, critics argue that the disproportionate impact on civilians raises serious ethical and legal questions.

Humanitarian Crisis Deepens The ongoing conflict has left Gaza on the brink of collapse, with essential services like healthcare, water, and electricity in dire straits. The UN has repeatedly warned of a “disastrous situation” for Gaza’s 2.3 million residents, many of whom have nowhere to flee due to the blockade and relentless shelling. Reports of overcrowded shelters, limited medical supplies, and the targeting of civilian infrastructure have drawn international condemnation.

As the violence escalates, global pressure mounts on both sides to broker a ceasefire. The bombing of a UN-run school and the deaths of over 50 civilians in a single day underscore the urgent need for accountability and protection of non-combatants. With humanitarian conditions deteriorating rapidly, the world watches as Gaza’s plight grows ever more desperate.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas intensified as Israeli airstrikes targeted central Gaza on November 28, killing at least 17 people, including several children, and injuring dozens more. The strikes, described as among the most severe in recent weeks, come amid warnings of an expanded ground offensive and escalating humanitarian concerns.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the airstrikes were aimed at Hamas military positions but acknowledged the high civilian toll in densely populated areas. Bombardments hit key regions like Al-Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah, devastating residential buildings and displacing thousands of families. Many residents, already struggling with severe shortages of electricity, water, and medical supplies due to an ongoing blockade, have been left with nowhere to go.

The United Nations reported that Gaza is one of the most densely populated areas in the world, with over 2.2 million people crammed into just 365 square kilometres. Humanitarian groups warn that continued blockades and bombardments could lead to a catastrophic collapse of essential services. Nearly 63% of Gaza’s population faces acute food insecurity, and dwindling fuel supplies have further limited electricity availability to a few hours per day, exacerbating communication blackouts. Reuters | Reuters.

The Israeli government defended its actions, citing the necessity of dismantling Hamas’ operational capacity following the October 7 attack that killed hundreds of Israelis. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Gaza residents to evacuate, but many questioned where they could safely go amidst the destruction. Reuters.

The conflict in Gaza shows no signs of de-escalation, with rising civilian casualties and worsening humanitarian conditions. As international calls for a ceasefire grow louder, the region’s future remains uncertain. Both sides face mounting pressure to navigate a path toward peace, but the immediate focus for many in Gaza is simply survival.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) has released a report accusing Israel of war crimes related to the alleged forced displacement of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The international human rights organization contends that Israel’s evacuation orders have resulted in the “massive forced displacement” of civilians and argues this policy could qualify as a war crime under international law. Israel, meanwhile, insists that its actions are aimed at safeguarding its citizens and mitigating risks from militant groups.

HRW’s 154-page report, titled Hopeless, Starving, and Besieged: Israel’s Forced Displacement of Palestinians in Gaza, provides extensive documentation of what it describes as systematic forced displacement by the Israeli military. According to HRW, the evacuation orders, which have displaced over 1.9 million Palestinians, were implemented without adequate protection or resources for those fleeing, exacerbating a humanitarian crisis. HRW warns that these actions could constitute crimes against humanity, as they may violate the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), in response, stated that their operations are in line with international law and that the displacement is necessary for “military reasons,” primarily to address threats from militant groups in densely populated civilian areas. Israel asserts that the evacuations aim to protect civilians as it targets Hamas and other militant factions operating from within Gaza.

According to the report, HRW documents several cases where displaced civilians were unable to find safety, facing bombardment en route to or within so-called “safe zones.” Statements from Israeli officials indicate the forced displacement aligns with national security objectives, raising concerns that it is part of broader state policy rather than isolated incidents. The report emphasizes the severe impact on civilians, who, HRW claims, lack access to essential resources due to restrictions on aid and mobility within Gaza.

The report also highlights Israel’s security justification, stating that military infrastructure such as tunnels operated by armed groups is often situated in civilian zones. HRW argues, however, that any actions targeting these areas must prioritize civilian safety, per international law, and claims Israel has not provided the necessary conditions for safe evacuations, including ensuring food, water, and medical care for those displaced.

HRW calls on the International Criminal Court to investigate these displacements and urges international governments to reconsider arms sales to Israel to avoid potential complicity in alleged war crimes. Israel’s government maintains that these operations are defensive, citing ongoing hostilities and security threats from within Gaza as justifications for their military approach.

In a significant political development, Spain, Ireland, and Slovenia have announced their formal recognition of Palestine as a sovereign state, marking a substantial shift in the European Union’s approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This move, effective from May 21, 2024, aligns with a broader international push for a two-state solution to achieve lasting peace in the region.

The decision by these nations follows intense deliberations within the EU, spearheaded by Josep Borrell, the EU’s foreign policy chief, who emphasized the symbolic nature of this recognition. Borrell highlighted that this act underscores the international community’s support for Palestine’s aspirations for statehood, aiming to catalyse further recognition across Europe (The Times of Israel) (Algemeiner).

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Irish officials have echoed similar sentiments, describing the recognition as a critical step towards addressing the ongoing conflict. They argue that recognising Palestinian statehood is essential for fostering peace and stability in the Middle East (Algemeiner) (Asharq Al-Awsat).

The United Nations General Assembly is also set to back Palestine’s bid to become a full member state, with the application expected to be reconsidered favourably by the UN Security Council. This diplomatic effort aims to bolster Palestine’s international standing and facilitate its participation in global governance (Algemeiner) (Asharq Al-Awsat).

However, the Israeli government has criticized these recognitions, viewing them as counterproductive to peace negotiations. Israeli officials argue that such moves reward terrorism and undermine the prospects for a negotiated resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (Asharq Al-Awsat).

As the geopolitical landscape evolves, the recognition of Palestine by Spain, Ireland, and Slovenia marks a pivotal moment, reflecting growing international support for Palestinian statehood and the enduring quest for peace in the region.

The chief of Israeli military intelligence has resigned after an internal investigation into the events surrounding the Hamas attack on October 7. The investigation revealed significant intelligence lapses that failed to prevent the attack, which caused widespread casualties and extensive damage. His resignation is part of a broader response to the tragic events and indicates a recognition of the need to address the intelligence failures that allowed the attack to occur.

Following the internal investigation, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) accepted the resignation, suggesting a willingness to make structural changes within military intelligence. This step reflects a move towards greater accountability and highlights the IDF’s commitment to identifying and addressing weaknesses in their security systems. By acknowledging these lapses, the Israeli military aims to reassure the public and demonstrate a focus on improving intelligence and security operations.

The resignation of the military intelligence chief signals the beginning of a broader re-evaluation of Israeli security protocols. This development indicates that the Israeli military is taking steps to strengthen its security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. As the investigation continues, the IDF will likely undergo further restructuring and reform to enhance its preparedness and response capabilities. These ongoing changes aim to ensure that intelligence and security systems are robust enough to prevent and manage future threats.
