Nando’s Eastgate has been completely redesigned with bold colours, local artwork and a distinctly South African character

Nando’s Eastgate has been completely reimagined to create a space that’s warmer, bolder, and unmistakably South African. From the moment you walk in, you’ll be surrounded by rich colours inspired by African sunsets, handcrafted details, and beautiful local artwork that make every visit feel like an experience.

One of the first things you’ll notice? The striking new digital menu boards. Not only do they make choosing your next meal easier, but the mouth-watering visuals are guaranteed to get your taste buds going before you’ve even placed your order.

Whether you’re catching up with friends, grabbing a quick lunch, or settling in for a family feast, there’s a space that’s just right for you. Cosy corners, relaxed booths, and open seating let you choose the vibe that suits your mood.

And then there’s the real crowd-pleaser: The Bottomless Station. Bottomless soft serve, bottomless soft drinks, and bottomless sauces mean you can help yourself to more of the things you love. It’s generous, it’s fun, and it’s so Nando’s.

Every detail has been thoughtfully chosen, from the locally made furniture and handcrafted lighting to the inspiring artwork created by talented South African designers and artists. It’s a celebration of local creativity that feels as authentic as the food on your plate.

The result? A Nando’s that’s every bit as vibrant and full of flavour as the legendary flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken it’s famous for.

Come in, take it all in, and experience your favourite Nando’s Eastgate in a whole new way.

National Geographic confirms premiere date and African broadcast details

Johannesburg, 16 April 2026: The wait for Stanley Tucci’s acclaimed culinary journey is almost over. TUCCI IN ITALY returns to National Geographic for Season 2 this May, bringing five new episodes that dive into the heart of Italy’s most debated gastronomic traditions. The series is set to air across the African continent on Wednesdays at 18:50 (CAT) beginning 13 May 2026. Viewers can find it on DStv channel 181 or StarTimes channel 220, with South African audiences also able to stream the entire season on Disney+.

Revealing a deeper, more personal journey, the Academy Award® nominee, Emmy®– and Golden Globe®-winning actor Stanley Tucci returns to his beloved Italy, visiting five new regions – Naples and Campania, Sicily, Le Marche, Sardinia, and Veneto – to trace the link between Italy’s historical landscape and its culinary traditions, where the ritual of the shared meal remains the ultimate expression of its people.

“In Italy, food is never just food. It’s memory, identity and, sometimes, a full-blown argument,” said Tucci. “This season, we explore how the past continues to shape the present, one region and one extraordinary meal at a time. I’m so pleased to share these captivating stories and these wonderful people with you.”

In Season 2, Tucci visits new regions, including Le Marche, a lesser-known destination he’s never featured before. Located in central Italy along the Adriatic coast, the region’s rich culinary delights have largely escaped the attention of international tourists. In Campania and its famed capital, Naples, he celebrates a once-forgotten vine grape, and in Veneto, he deliciously wades into the passionate culinary debate over the origins of tiramisu.

Stanley also explores two very different Islands: Sardinia, where he looks into the relationship between food and longevity, and Sicily, where multicultural history has left a delicious mark on its food.

CAPE TOWN, South Africa – For an outstanding fifth consecutive year, DGB, one of South Africa’s leading independent wine and spirits producers, has been awarded the coveted title of Best Producer South Africa at the Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2026.

Adding to the achievement, the company has also been honoured as Best Producer in South Africa Over the Past 25 Years, underlining its long-standing excellence in international competition. The official ceremony took place at the world’s leading trade fair, the ProWein International Wine Trade Fair in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 15 – 17 March 2026.

“In the opinion of Mundus Vini, five years in a row, as best producer, South Africa, as well as Best South African Producer over 25 years, is a significant success,” says Christian Wolf, Director of Degustation of Mundus Vini. “We haven’t seen this ever before, so for DGB, it’s a fantastic performance. We think this shows one thing, especially, that it’s not a one-time high-quality success. It’s a long-term achievement of fantastic wine qualities in our competition.”

Top Accolades and “Best of Show”

In addition to these top accolades, DGB also received the Best of Show South Africa White award for the 2024 Bellingham The Bernard Series Old Vine Chenin Blanc Cape Town. This award is granted exclusively to wines that achieve the highest rating within their category.

The results follow the 38th edition of the Mundus Vini Spring Tasting, a special milestone for the internationally respected wine competition. This year’s tasting evaluated approximately 5,500 wines from around the world, judged by an international panel of wine experts.

A Consistent Global Performer

“I feel incredibly proud,” says owner Lindy Levy. “It’s deeply heartwarming to witness the unwavering commitment of our COOKED Watershed team. The longevity of some of our staff speaks volumes about the strength of our working relationships and the mutual dedication, support and trust we’ve cultivated over time.”

When asked what she loves most about her work, her answer is simple: “It’s the sight of an empty plate and the smile of someone whose belly (and spirit) are full. Knowing I’ve helped create that moment is what makes every day meaningful.”

SecretEATS Invites Guests to an Unforgettable Experience Inspired by Legacy, Lineage and Lavish Living

Johannesburg, 5 August 2025: Following the sell-out success of its debut, Secret Cinema by SecretEATS returns to Johannesburg this Spring, offering audiences not one, but three exclusive opportunities to take part in the next instalment of this unique cinematic experience. With two evening shows and a new matinee option, this next chapter promises a refined affair, steeped in secrets, subtlety and stately intrigue.

A final chapter calls

This edition of Secret Cinema draws inspiration from a world where titles are inherited, family names carry weight and the drama plays out across polished floors and manicured lawns. Guests are invited to gather one last time for a private preview of a soon-to-be-released film that continues a globally adored saga, set once again amidst the traditions, tensions and tea rituals of an English estate. While the film’s name remains confidential, those familiar with silver service and storylines served with scandal, may already suspect what lies ahead.

Tea, titles and timeless elegance

The experience begins with a High Tea-inspired canapé and cocktail reception that nods to the rituals of aristocratic living. Guests can expect delicacies with a sense of occasion and drinks that would not be out of place in the cellars of a great house. From first sip to final toast, this prelude is designed to prepare guests for a farewell unlike any other.

After refreshments, attendees will be led into a private cinema hidden within the city, where they will enjoy an exclusive pre-release screening of a long-awaited final chapter. The venue, like the story, is a carefully guarded secret. Ticket holders will receive their instructions, location and pass phrase on the day of the event.

Three performances only

To meet growing demand, this edition of Secret Cinema will be presented across three performances in Johannesburg. While the details remain shrouded in secrecy, the format remains familiar: each show includes a themed dining experience, in this case a cocktail, High Tea-style canapés, soft drinks, popcorn and a few unexpected moments along the way. All dietary requirements are catered for and non-alcoholic options are available.

Guests are encouraged to dress in keeping with the occasion, whether that means donning a coat and tie or arriving in pearls and a fascinator. The tone is one of quiet ceremony, with just a hint of theatre. As always, seats are limited and early booking is advised.

Secure your seat at the manor

Secret Cinema continues to evolve as a signature event in the SecretEATS repertoire, combining film, flavour and a touch of fantasy. This next edition invites guests to witness the final act of a beloved tale in a setting worthy of its legacy. Tickets are now on sale. Once they’re gone, the curtain falls.

Bookings are now open and can be booked here. Best not delay… once word gets out, seats at the table tend to disappear.

Cavendish Square Celebrates Flavour and Creativity With Its “Taste the Trend” Winter Campaign

Cape Town, 21 July 2025: Cavendish Square is turning up the heat this winter with its “Taste the Trend” campaign, a celebration of food and flavour designed to engage shoppers during the colder months. From 24 July to 14 August, nearly 40 food and beverage stores across the centre will be showcased in a digital and print campaign aimed at reminding Capetonians why Cavendish Square remains a top destination for memorable meals and quick bites.

Celebrating food culture in creative ways

“Taste the Trend” introduces six distinct food moods that reflect the current appetite for bold, comforting and innovative meals. Shoppers will encounter these themes across the mall and online. From “toasty” meals that promise crispy comfort to “swicy” combinations of sweet and spicy, each category highlights trending tastes and clever menu pairings.

Participating stores will be featured in a series of short-form videos and social content. The campaign has launched with local content creator and food personality, Clement Pedo, also referred to as “ Chef Clem”, who will be sharing his personal take on what makes Cavendish Square’s food scene Instagram-worthy.

Shop, snap and save

Visitors who spend R150 or more at any food outlet during the campaign will receive free parking between 18h00 – 20h00 when presenting their receipt at the Concierge Desk on the first floor. To stand a chance of winning additional prizes, shoppers are encouraged to snap a picture of their meal and share it on social media, tagging @CavendishSquare and using the hashtag #CSTasteTheTrend.

“Our dining offerings have grown into a significant part of the Cavendish Square experience,” says Centre Manager Faizah Behardien. “Taste the Trend is our way of inviting people to rediscover the variety, creativity and comfort available from our food stores. Whether it is a quick coffee, a sit-down lunch or an indulgent takeaway, the campaign celebrates the choice and quality that our centre is known and loved for.”
