Johannesburg, 9 October 2025: Johannesburg turned all the way up yesterday as NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-To-Consumer celebrated the highly anticipated launch of Bravo Africa at Four Seasons, The Westcliff. The packed event marked the arrival of the ultimate destination for reality TV, now available to viewers on DStv channel 124 and on DStv Access.

A Guest List That Brought the Star Power

The venue was buzzing with some of South Africa’s favourite personalities, including Minnie Dlamini, Somizi, Thembisa Mdoda, Nia Brown, Candice Modiselle, Vourne Kgosinkwe, Mamello Makha, Buntu Petse, Taryn Louch, Kayise Ngqula, Lula Odiba, Jo Judnick-Wilson, Judie Kama, Kay Sibiya, Jason WIlliemse, Yaya Mavundla, Kuhle Adams, Ray Neo Buso, Diolan Govender, Margo Fargo, Danny Painter, Sachi Okada, Roxy Burger and Jason Goliath.

An Exclusive First Look at Bravo Africa’s Content

Guests enjoyed an advance screening of the highly anticipated first episode of The Real Housewives of London, the 30th international instalment of the world-renowned franchise, premiering Sunday, 12 October at 19:00. The sneak peek showed off the signature mix of drama, glamour and wit that has made The Real Housewives a global obsession.

The party also teased the return of the immensely popular comedy dating show Dating #No Filter South Africa, premiering Saturday, 11 October at 18:00. Guests were treated to a Q&A, hosted by Thulane, with cast members Jason Goliath, Kim Jayde, Carpo More, Nadia Nakai, Jo-Anne Reyneke, Tums The Narrator, Skyf Your Loss and Robby Collins.

Overlooking the Jozi skyline, the launch event featured plenty of fun interactive elements including guests getting their glam on at the Fenty Beauty station and indulging in Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl fragrance experience.

Pretoria, 2 September 2025: The Grove Mall hosted the premiere of the feature film My f*k, Marelize! Last week, bringing together cast, celebrities and film enthusiasts for an evening that placed local cinema firmly in the spotlight. The film tells the story behind the viral moment that captured worldwide attention when a young Namibian woman, Marelize Horn, crashed her bicycle into a rugby goalpost and her mother’s exclamation instantly became part of pop culture. What started as internet humour has now been reimagined as a feature film exploring resilience, family ties and the humour in everyday life.

Set in Windhoek and framed by the colour of the WIKA carnival, the movie follows Marelize as she struggles to master the bicycle and prepare for her future abroad, while her mother, Heidi, hides a difficult truth from the family. In attendance at the premiere were Je-ani Swiegelaar, who plays Heidi Horn; Zandelle Meyer as Marelize Horn; Nichola Viviers as Wilmari Horn; and Chanél Muller as Annelise. Director Zandré Coetzer also joined the event, together with Len Muller, who wrote and performed the film’s theme song.

A Night of Stars

Well-known personalities Nadia Beukes, Revan Luus, Karlien van Jaarsveld, Vasti Spiller, Tamlyn Wessels, Willem Botha, Demi-Lee Moore and Lee Scott were among the guests who joined the celebrations. Attendees enjoyed the opportunity to meet the cast, capture photo moments and share in the festive atmosphere. Darling Brew and Six Dogs Gin added to the occasion with a selection of drinks, including a dedicated gin bar.

Reactions to the film were overwhelmingly positive, with guests calling it “hilarious” and “emotional” and exclaiming, “Wow, so cool.” The mix of heartfelt storytelling and humour resonated strongly with the audience, marking the film as a significant moment for Namibian cinema.

A final chapter calls

This edition of Secret Cinema draws inspiration from a world where titles are inherited, family names carry weight and the drama plays out across polished floors and manicured lawns. Guests are invited to gather one last time for a private preview of a soon-to-be-released film that continues a globally adored saga, set once again amidst the traditions, tensions and tea rituals of an English estate. While the film’s name remains confidential, those familiar with silver service and storylines served with scandal, may already suspect what lies ahead.

Tea, titles and timeless elegance

The experience begins with a High Tea-inspired canapé and cocktail reception that nods to the rituals of aristocratic living. Guests can expect delicacies with a sense of occasion and drinks that would not be out of place in the cellars of a great house. From first sip to final toast, this prelude is designed to prepare guests for a farewell unlike any other.

After refreshments, attendees will be led into a private cinema hidden within the city, where they will enjoy an exclusive pre-release screening of a long-awaited final chapter.
